Multiplication for kids
Adding the same group again and again.
Multiplication is repeated addition — the fastest way to count equal groups. In Yaze we introduce it with real objects arranged in arrays, then move to skip counting, then to fact families. Every times table 2 through 12 has its own chapter with an array, a song, and a fluency check.

Equal groups
The idea before the symbol.
Multiplication starts as equal groups: four plates with three apples each. Understanding that the groups must be the same size — and that the array can be turned without changing the total — comes before any table is memorised, usually ages six to eight.
