Hundreds
Ten tens make a hundred.
Three-digit place value extends the same bundling logic: ten tens make a hundred. Children need to read and write numbers to 1000 in numerals and in words, and to handle zeros as placeholders. Usually ages six to eight.

What parents should watch for
- Writing three hundred and five as 3005.
- Ignoring a zero in the tens column when reading aloud.
- Thinking a longer number is always larger without checking place value.
- Adding a hundred by changing the wrong digit.
